Tiger’s eye is typically golden to reddish brown in colour, with layers of different shades. It produces a silky glow called chatoyance: its lustre makes it look much like a cat’s eye. The skull carving is both aesthetically pleasing and meaningful, as it can be a productive object of contemplation.
Tiger’s eye is famous for its ability to ward off the evil eye, and it is linked more generally to metaphysical or spiritual sight, as well as insight. It can lend the person holding it inner strength, or courage.
